How times have changed for Hillary Swank.
She grew up in a trailer park and has been open about her difficult childhood but now the Oscar-winning actress has splashed out on a swanky new $4million mansion in California.
The 6722 square foot home has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms and is nestled in an exclusive enclave in the Pacific Palisades.

The two storey Spanish-style home is surrounded by trees and vegetation which will be perfect for Swank, who is an avid gardener.
Swank grew up in a trailer park in Washington State and says her background is 'not something I forget'.
'It helps me to not take what I have for granted. I really appreciate that I get to travel and see the world, and that I can pay my bills.
'It’s an incredible feeling to know that I can actually buy that pair of shoes, and I appreciate a sale as much as the next person. I think about how I’m spending my money, and I like to spend on my family', Swank said.

Swank credits her success and work ethic to her mother.
'She didn’t give me false expectations that fairy dust was going to be thrown over me and suddenly all my dreams would come true.
'She told me that I was going to have to work my ass off to achieve my dreams. And I never questioned that', she said.
But growing up in a trailer was challenging - made more difficult by the parents of her school friends.
'I had a roof over my head and I had food. But you feel it from other people. Not your friends, because at that age kids don’t care where you live – but their parents.
'I learned what class was. I guess what people in England would call it snobbery: they wouldn’t want me to come round to their house to play. It was like, "Well, what’s wrong with me?"'

Swank famously said in her Oscar acceptance speech for Million Dollar Baby: 'I’m just a girl from a trailer park who had a dream'.
The 36-year-old double Academy-Award winner who also won for Boys Don't Cry is currently working on the upcoming star-studded film New Year's Eve.
The film also has Robert DeNiro, Katherine Heigl, Halle Berry and Sarah Jessica Parker as part of the ensemble cast.
