Hollywood star Alison Brie is spending time on Australia's Gold Coast filming her new project Apples Never Fall.

Alison, who played Trudy Campbell in Mad Men, has enjoyed some time off between shoots and indulged in Queensland's famous beaches.

Thee 40-year-old headed out for a swim on Saturday and opted for a bright red bikini for the outing.

She had her 'Baywatch' moment as she excitedly exited the water soaking wet while showcasing her figure in the skimpy swimwear.

After hitting the waves, Alison opted to wring her long, brunette hair dry before heading to the carpark barefoot and soaking wet.

The actress had earlier arrived at the beach in a white tank top, cap and black shorts, as well as designer sunglasses.

Alison was clearly having a relaxing weekend, but during the week she has been hard at work on her new series.

Produced by streaming giant Peacock, Apples Never Fall is the latest limited series based on one of Liane Moriarty's bestselling novel.

Moriarty's biggest hit has been HBO's Big Little Lies, which starred Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Meryl Streep

According to Deadline in March, Annette Bening and Sam Neill will join Jake Lacy and Brie as series regulars on the new thriller.

The series Apples Never Fall will be focused on the Delaneys, who appear to be the perfect family from outside, but not everything is as it seems.

Former tennis coaches Joy, played by Bening, and Stan, played by Neill, are parents to four adult children, two of whom will be played by Brie and Lacy.

After decades of marriage together, the couple have sold-up their tennis academy to start their twilight years together.

However, shockwaves are sent through the family when Joy disappears, causing her children to reexamine their parents marriage.

The $79 million production is a collaboration between Universal Studio Group and Matchbox Pictures.

In September, the cast and crew of the show wrote an open letter for Matchbox Pictures and NBCUniversal to 'do the right thing' amid the strike.

MEAA acting director of entertainment, crew and sport Nikau Irvine told IF in September of the financial hardship they faced.

'Our members are steadfast in their support for the strikes in the US and understand the reasons why actors and writers are taking industrial action there.

'Unfortunately they are now experiencing financial hardship because of the action of the same major Hollywood studios, in this case NBCUniversal.'

At the time, NBC Universal said they were excited to get back to work.

'NBCUniversal is committed to our ongoing investment in Australian production, infrastructure, and training,' the company said.
